desperately seeking hard brick

Help! The source I thought I had for used hard brick just let me know there
was none. I want to be building by Aug 1. Anyone know of a source for
recycled, cheap or donated hard brick for building 18 cu. ft. soda kiln(Is
that like asking the poor to donate to the alms box?) I'm in Sullivan Co.,
N.Y. and have pick-up truck. Any leads would be welcome. Thanks. -Laurie

I don't know Sullivan County but in 1971 I moved to Cornwall, NY because there
were free hard bricks in the woods from an old factory stack.
Look around and maybe you'll find something.
For an 18 cu ft. soda kiln you could cast it pretty cheap. That is fairly small.

Laurie,

I know what you mean. It really is difficult to find a good hard brick
source that's not only recycled but still functional. Donations are not
that uncommon, but do we want all that excess baggage that comes along
with it? And when it comes too cheap, it loses something. Now that
Viagra is on the market there may be hope. Wait a minute...you said
"Brick"...ohhhh....that's a whole 'nother thing entirely. (:
