Fellow Clayarters, There is a 5,000 sq ft warehouse in Athens that is
being converted into a ceramic studio space and teaching center. There
are still a few things to work out, like some electrical wiring, natural
gas line to be installed, and lighting. I have dibbs on the space in the
back and it is big enough for two artists to share. It will rent for
$500 a month, so that would be just $250 to split the space. I'm
planning on buying a glass kiln and perhaps a welder; to make the space
into a real sculpture studio. Is there anyone out there who is looking
to relocate and would like to share a studio? It is just two blocks from
downtown and Athens is a vibrant arts center and also home to a very
good alternative music scene. Also, Atlanta is just over one hours drive
away. Jim in NC

Clayarters, There is a pottery studio space available near Athens,
Georgia. It is 1,200 sq ft and is equiped with 2 Brent pottery wheels,a
clay mixer, pug mill, 10 cu ft electric kiln, and a 50 cu ft downdraft
gas kiln. Also, I am planning on bringing my own 10 cu ft electric kiln,
my potters wheel, my smallish gas kiln, and I plan on building a salt
kiln behind the studio. I would like to bring in 2 other potters (or
clay artists) to share the space with to help with the rent. Rent will
be $150.00 a month with full access to everything in the studio. If you
are interested please email me or call me at (828) 862-5903. Thanks, Jim
Bozeman
