The American Ceramic Society's book publishing division has "The
Extruder Book" currently under development; with a March 1999
publication date. The book will help those who have extruders see what
can be done with their extruders and show how they can get more use from
them. It will also help those considering the purchase of an extruder
to select the right equipment from what's available today.

The international search is on for high-quality, color
slides/transparencies of original, creative extruder work for possible
inclusion in the Gallery section of this much-needed book. We're also
looking for slides of hand-built extruders and dies. Fully credited
inclusion. No fee required.

Deadline August 31, 1998. For photographic guidelines and forms, send
SASE to The Extruder Book, The American Ceramic Society, P.O. Box 6136,
Westerville, OH 43086-6136. E-mail: mcassells@acers.org or fax (614)
794-5822.

As the author of the book I am interested in connecting with those of
you who regularly use an extruder in your private or school studios. I
am particularly interested in learning more about hand-made extruder
designs and how you make your dies. If you're interested in making a
contribution to the development of this book, please contact me via
e-mail at clayguy@concentric.net.
