Hi Everyone!
I just found this list, so I will do a short Intro. I live in north
eastern Alberta, Canada. I am in a rather remote area so I have to rely
on the net to learn. We have a 5 member potter's club, but I seem to be
the only one who wants to do more than mugs in an electric kiln.
I live on a beautiful farm and raise Arabian horses. My children are
almost all grown so I have time to do the things I love to do, namely,
pottery and horses.
I have gathered bricks to build a wood fired kiln. I plan on using a
very thick piece of steel [that was used for high pressure work in the
oilfield] for my arched roof. Has anyone ever tried constructing a kiln
with steel? I am not worried about it melting, but I am wondering about
the reaction with glazes.
Any ideas?
Thanks all!
Marie
