You might try dusting the kiln shelf with a thin layer of grog under your
frame.
The particles act like tiny ball bearings and will enable the frame to
adjust itself relatively "friction free" during firing's shrinkage stage.
Consequently, no sticking point -- which is where cracks can begin (sort
of like tearing). More grog in the clay body would probably help, too.
Beef it up a bit, especially if the frame is only 1/4" thick.
The pirate potter growls, "Arrrr matey, more grog!"
