How large should a bagwall be in a wood fired chamber kiln? I recently
helped fire a small chamber kiln that has the biggest bagwall I ve ever
seen. The chamber is 5 1/2 ft high and 3 ft long, and the bagwall is 4 ft
high, loosely built to allow some flames through. This seemed to me to be
much too large, but I am unfamiliar with chamber kilns. It`s a lot of brick
to heat up, and I wonder if too large a bagwall could even slow down the
draft.
Any thoughts on bagwall dimensions would be appreciated.
