Hi Clayarters!
(this was originally posted about a year and a half ago, but still is
valid)
If anyone is, or knows of a clay artist, or potter that might have the
desire to relocate to the sunny south florida area and is looking for a
house / studio combination, there is such a deal available within my
home
and studio, which I am willing to share...
The house is a 2000 square foot, two story, centrally air
conditioned,
custom designed home, with skylights, hot tub, sauna and a great
location....what will be available for rental will be a private bedroom
with its own bathroom and a terrace that overlooks the expanse of
property...all other areas in the house are available to be shared
including kitchen / living room / dining room, exercise room (with state
of
the art equipment) and laundry facilities...
The studio is fully equipped with two Brent Model C wheels, slab
roller,
two extruders, large electric kiln, smaller jewelry kiln, raku kiln and
setup for eventual gas kiln...the studio is approximately 400 square
feet
and two people can easily work together or separately depending upon
what
plans are feasible and desired...
The location is in an exclusive area of North Miami Beach, which is
centrally located and not more than 30 minutes from all points in Dade
County, including the South Beach area, also known as "SoBe" since
the
inception of the South Florida Art Center in the mid eighty's. It is
only
a 20 minute ride and is a virtual haven for artists to display their
wares
and possibly join the art center or teach classes...
As it stands I will be asking for $750 dollars per month, which
includes
all of the above common areas and utilities...It is really quite
idyllic
and a perfect setting for a potter that wishes to be in an environment
that
is terrific for potting year round...!
