Where would I begin to find copper/ferric/nickel/cobalt chlorides? I
finally located the copper sulfate at the farm supply warehouse but don't
know where to begin looking for the others. Plan to use them in raku fuming.

Thanks, Arlene/LA

Radio Shack used to sell a PC Board etching kit that was, in essence, a
plastic tank and a solution of Ferric Chloride. The trick there is that the
copper on the PC Board replaces the iron in the chloride solution, and lets
the iron precipitate out. It leaves a sludge, but who cares- you only want
the solution, not the process. Try Radio Shack or some other wholesale
type electronic parts store.

Bill- just cleaned up after doing an oil change.(in 90 deg heat- I didnt
say I was wise)- on Persimmon Hill

You can get ferric chloride from your local radio shack for about 3 dollars a
pint. You can also get it from a printer. He would use it to etch his plates
with. I have gotten it from the latter. Its free because they would
otherwise have to pay to dispose of it.
Good Luck
