Hey y'all. We had a great time at the saggar firing workshop hosted by
Al and Deb Howell in Raleigh on Saturday. Edge Barnes and Charlie Riggs
both shared a heap o' info on how to do the saggar firings. They're
using similar ingredients inside the saggar, but using different firing
schedules.

Edge, if you're reading this, I hope your fingers are getting better
from the burns! We're gonna be doing a lot of saggar firing this
semester, I suspect.

'nother note from the workshop:

The award for _Most Evil Prank Played on a Workshop Attendee_ goes to
Charlie Riggs for his SMASHING performance.

The _Will you Hurry Up and Open that Saggar Already!_ award goes to Deb
Howell, who was kind enough, as hostess, to let everyone else get their
pieces fired first, but who wanted to see her pots RIGHT NOW!!! when the
saggars came out of the kiln. It was pretty kewl to watch her pieces
change colors right before our eyes! Makes me wonder if most of the
color development doesn't happen in the cool=down phase.....

Thanks Al and Deb for hosting a great workshop!
