gelling slips

All you old gellers out there,

What to do with all that left over sig waste? (hands on hips, shaking head
at bucket full of rock hard slip)

Work it up again into suspension again and chuck in a 8 or 10 teaspoons of
epsom salts (dry crystals) and it gets THICK and no longer settles out. I
dipped a bisqued tile in it, fired it and it all stayed on, it even
burnishes. An all ball clay slip that you can apply to bisque! Kewl! I think
it works because you've taken out the finer more plastic particles (the ones
that will shrink the most) to make the sig.

Hint; if you add the epsom salts when you have the slop half worked up it
makes it easier, keeps what's already up from settling back down.

Martha Stewart, eat your heart out!

Ru (a friend is offering me a free ticket to the opening of the Gay Games in
Amsterdam this weekend; nice friend!)
