i have been re/building one of my old brents...new motor, shaft,
etc.....they all go too fast on high speed. had a nice chat with tony
glass at brent....course he has only worked there for two years...i have
been buying and using brents for 25 years. (very few repairs)
one of the permanent magnets in the motor came loose and broke all over the
inside of the motor housing..ick.

open the bottom of the foot control...see the red dial. turn it all the
way
to high and then keep backing it off until you get a nice centering speed
that does not kick the ball back out of center.
it is about three fourths of the way from top speed.

the blue dial is for total off....if the wheel spins at slow speed when the
pedal is off, back off on the blue dial til it stops.

i really keep my wheels set slow...do not like that 1,000 rpm stuff.
makes it hard to throw...
keep it all steady and slow, best way.

our wheels in japan had only one speed..and no stopping.
just throw all day with the wheel spinning. take the pots off as the wheel
turns...throw new clay the same way.

i still do a great deal of that.
tap center a spinning pot on a spinning wheel. saves tons of time.
