I just returned from a trip to the Pacific Northwest. I noticed a couple
of things some of the potters were using and wondered if anyone here knows
where I can get these items.
* Some small plastic cup like things that were glued to the bottom of
decorated slabs to be used for ikibana (sic). They were maybe 1" or so
deep and the "well" was about 2" or so in diameter with a flange of about a
half and inch all around that glued to the bottom of the slab.
* Small "frogs" (a thing with a lot of small metal spikes in them to hold
the flowers.
* Small square plexiglas square containers about 4" long with a loop
attached to hang the little vase to the wall. THe ones I saw were only
about 1" square.
Boy did I enjoy the coast. Temperatures here were in the 100's practically
all the time we were gone. Got back and it's been cloudy and even
sprinkled a bit in ole Oklahoma City.

Hello -
The small frogs are available through Aftosa; also Seattle Pottery Supply
carries them and a whole buch of other stuff, will probably be able to advise
re: cups and plexiglass boxes. Ask 'em for a catalog:

I asked the same question about the cups a few weeks ago, and got no answers.
I buy the pins from
Bonnie Manufacturing and Sales
P.O. Box 53
Springville, PA 18844

They also have the cups, but they are not plastic and are what, I think, is
expensive. 2" runs $37.80/doz up to 5 3/4" for $19. each - Wow! I have been
happy with their service for the pins. I have never ordered the cups. I
still would like to find plastic ones at a cheaper price.

Bob,
The little "Cap Thingys" sound like hydraulic pipe caps and should be
available from most supply houses and/or plastics manufacturers.
They're very common in the aircraft industry to keep tubing clean while
it's being worked.

We buy our pin frogs from a floral wholesale house. The price is
cheaper than Altosa (3 frogs per box for about $3.50 a box). Perhaps
there are wholesale floral supplly houses in your city.
