Sorry to start off the year on a sour point... but I'm really getting
worked up over this issue!!!
Proper Country of Origin labeling is THE LAW. It's a CRIME to deceive the
public about where an item is made.

I would like to remind artists that in the year 2000 the BMAC will require
all artwork products exhibited be labeled "Made In USA or Canada" labeling
(in a permanent and indelible manner). In addition, all brochures, and
collateral material must also have a "Made In USA or Canada" labeling
and/or reference.

Any artist considering having their designs produced offshore should
seriously consider doing so under a different company and a different
designer name. Artists who combine off-shore production with their
American handmade products and image will loose their rights to exhibit at
any of our shows.

It is a federal crime in the US to misrepresent the country of origin in
any way. Penalties from $100,000-$250,000. We are working with the Made
In USA Foundation to help strengthen laws to protect domestic goods from
unfair labeling and marketing practices.

If you know of anyone who has been asked to REMOVE "Made in China" labels
from products please advise them to call 1-800-ITSFAKE. Monetary rewards
are offered for information leading to conviction.

We are currently gathering information about off shore KNOCK-OFFS. Please
send me any info you might have... pass the word on.
Happy New Year!
