Hey Ron..... i posted this glaze .... awhile back and you said it looked
good then...
along with some otheres (tom buck i think) i've done the freezer to boiling
water test... the boiling water to cold water test... and i tested three
diffent oxide comba nations...with the vinger test... the test were 1) Cobalt
Carb.-2, MangDio-2% RIO-2%, Tin Ox.-2% (this by the way makes a nice black)
2) Copper Carb-5%
3) Cobalt Carb.-2% i soaked all three test pieces in vinger for a
week......
with no change.....

to refresh your memory .... you got mad at me because i had put in the subject
heading "Attention Glaze Police" i said i was sorry and we kissed and made
up..

the recipe only equals 95 because if you change it to equal 100 then the
numbers get ugly and such... and there is no need for it.. when 95 is close
enough.....

the rest of the post...

Hi Peter,

You are making me laugh.

The reason I expressed some concern about this glaze is: The alumina is a
little over supplied - not much - but the MgO is way over. This is when I
use the limits supplied with Insight.

I am wondering if the over supply of certain oxides is not as much concern
as the under supply of say silica or alumina. Does anyone have any hard
information in this area?

Perhaps those of you who are interested in having glazes tested would be
willing to do this with the black version listed here.

Thanks for adding this info Peter - best regards,

Constable Ron.
