Hi:

I'm currently finishing the artists database for Art in The Pearl, which is
a three day fair in Portland, Oregon that is held Sat, Sun and Mon of Labor
Day weekend in Sept. The reason I'm mentioning this is that I'll include
any of you that want an application if you send me your snail address.

The show is non commission and a booth costs $350. There are a total of 125
booths in the show, with 115 available. This is an artist run show and some
of the board members will have booths. The only perk that a board member
gets is not having to jury. This show is so grass roots that even the board
members have to pay the 350 bucks for a booth plus work all year to put on
the event. The aim is to be very "artist friendly"!

The show is held in the North Park Blocks in downtown Portland and is an
outdoor event. It's a nice setting and the neighborhood has been very
receptive to the show because it's small enough that we don't disrupt the
neighborhood. I might also mention that the Art Fair Sourcebook gave the
show a 68th out of 500 rating after the first year! I think that's pretty
decent! The focus of the show is high quality art and craft work.

There are seven potters on the board of directors. Is this a good thing?
