to those who responded with info about art therapy programs and career
outlook:
I want to send a long overdue THANKS. The information was very helpful.
Especially about the job outlook, HMO coverage, etc. I have a much
better idea of what to ask when I interview at the college about
placement opportunities. Also, the Ursuline College is probably going
to be my first choice as it is only about 1 1/2 hour to drive for summer
classes. The program in Vermont looks very good also and would work
around my current teaching schedule, but the cost of lodging would really
up the overall cost.
Unfortunately, the cost is going to be a real barrier I'm afraid. This
would be a second career and I'm not sure that I will work long enough to
pay it off !! I am going to apply and see what kind of financial aid
package is available before I give up the idea.
One suggestion from the local University is to seek a Masters in Guidance
and use that along with my art backgroud to offer art therapy. I have
not yet relly looked into this option, probably plan B, although the
curriculum does not look nearly as interesting.

what would life be like without public education to organize our day
around?
I've been wondering as I periodically check the local channel for school
closings. One more and the vocational school were I teach will be off for
the fourth day in a row. Can the parents take anymore !!!!
