My husband and I are moving to north Dallas (Plano area) by the
end of this year. Does anyone know of any clay contacts for
studio space or shared studio space. I'm planning on purchasing
a wheel and electric kiln, but would love to have access to a
reduction and/or salt kiln. This will be a first time endeavor
in starting my own pottery business, so any help would be really
appreciated.

Michele,, welcome to Dallas. There are "shared studios" in Dallas..I will
try to get you some names. There is also a Clay Group named Texas Clay
Artist... when you get settled.let me know and ill send you meeting
places..etc. Probably one of the best sources for all clay information is
Trinity Ceramics. They are located in the industiral area near downtown off
Regal Row.. on Diplomacy...they will give you directions if you call them
when you are ready. If you go there, ask for Angela...I think that she knows
everything.. and always seems willing to help..

I bet Trinity Ceramics in Dallas could help you with information and
contacts, they are some great people. Really nice.

I live in the Dallas FT/W area and am in the process of locating space in
FTW for Studios and gallery space. I have not located property as yet in
the area I wish to be at this time. You can contact Marty Ray at North Lake
College (972) 273-3000. She is a member of a Dallas Potter and Art Guild.
I am a member of The Texas Sculpture and Potters Guild of Ft Worth. You
can contact jimv062@aol.com. (Jim Brooks) He has been a member of the TSPG
for many years. Trinity may be able to help you. Am not sure if there is
such a place in the Dallas area. Many of the students at my school have
asked the same question, hence my looking for space to start a place for
spaces and a gallery for artists to sale their products.

I was on the NCECA bus tour of Dalas and we finished and partied at an old
refurbished cotton mill used as studios for artists. I met a guy there with a
great studio on the end. I would love to get some names and addresses of potter'
in that building. I have a couple of pictures I took and also would like to
collaborate with the potters if possible. Please let me know if you have any ide
of who I am talking about. Thanks.
