Your friend did not get it wrong,cold glaze is sold by hobby
shops and is usually put on to pots made of air hardening clay.Pottery =
supply
companies in Britain sell it to schools and it is not a glaze in the sense =
of
=22glass=22.

Thanks all who replied. I would never have thought of what a
couple of people suggested - painting onto air-dried clay. I suppose
that could be it. Also, a colleague of mine pointed out that the
Italian word for hot is calde, so there could have been a bit of a
translation problem somewhere along the way!
