Sorry about all the confusion in my last message.

This Copper red glaze is fired at cone 6 in an electric kiln.

The following problem has occurred:
The glaze crawled- or actually peeled off the pieces, both on the vertical
and horizontal sections. The pieces were first bisqued to cone 04.

The formula for this glaze is

Copper Red
Custer Feldspar- 33
Whiting- 7
Flint- 31
Frit 3134- 31
PLUS 3% of the following mixture
Copper Carb- 5
Tin Oxide- 50
Silicon Carbide- 5.6
Custer Feldspar- 39.4

Does this glaze even work in a cone 6 oxidation environment? Is this glaze
seem to be food safe? What is the problem. Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks
Ted in St Augustine

Ted, Yes, your glaze is food safe. As far as the crazling and peeling
problem, you can try upping your flux and glass former, I would start by
upping your whiting content. Whiting is a flux, which will make your
glaze melt quicker. As far as your bisque, I have always bisqued to a
^04. Always works good for me. Hope this helps, Jennifer in Alpine, TX
