Cindy; holdit!!!!! For gosh sakes don't take this advice until you check this
out!! I tried this with my raku kiln and the bricks melted like molten lava.
Hell of a mess. I used them for posts and had the shelves, pots and molten
mess at the bottom of the kiln. Fortunately they melted slowly and everything
slowly dropped to the bottom of the kiln. Never broke a single pot but they had
molten brick stuck to them, which I keep as a reminder to NEVER make that
mistake again. The melted brick completely ruined the walls and floor of the
kiln as it hardened right into the firebrick of the kiln. They may make
highfire bricks that you could use but I would sure be careful your getting
from a supplier who knows exactly what temp the bricks can go to. Regular house
chimney bricks are what I used with such disasterous results. Be careful.
