do-it-yourself clay body

Amy,

After I posted information to you on processing your riverbed, plastic
clay, it occurred to me that just maybe you could get yourself a 100%
DIY clay body. Isn't Georgia one of the few places in the U.S. with
kaolin? Anyhow, get yourself a refractory clay (not necessarily white),
process and test it in much the same way I suggested you deal with your
riverbed clay. It's very possible you'll have a situation where you'll
have low-fire, plastic clay that you can combine with the higher fire
clay in just such a way that the body matures at your temperature. You
may even end up with enough glassy phase to have something with good
strength.

Let me know what happens in case I can offer a few more suggestions.
Maybe I can even suggest a do-it-yourself glaze.
