I know this is way late, but I was reading months old Clayart posts in the
middle of the night and realized that there seemed to be a missing piece of
information in the debate about drying tiles between drywall slabs. I didn't
see any mention of the newspaper you have to place on either side of the tile
before you sandwich it between the pieces of dry wall.
I use several thicknesses (the thicker the tile, the more sheets of newspaper)
of newspaper on either side of the tile to keep it from sticking to the
drywall. I think the paper wicks the moisture from the center of the tile and
lets it dry slowly. No flipping, no wrapping or waxing edges, since the water
has to migrate there in order to evaporate. The newspaper also also keeps the
tile (if wet) from sticking to the drywall like it was epoxy'd on.
