eletric kiln controllers and cooling cycles

I have recently bought a Paragon kiln with a programmable controller and
have started to do some slump glass in it as well as bisque and glaze
firings.

Has anyone experience with programming a cyle that includes opening the
lid to crash cool from 800oC to 600oC then rampng to 560 soaking then
ramping to 530 and saoking before turning off? When I tried it the kiln
seemed to want to heat up on the down ramps so I had to manually
controled it.

As this is off subject please reply directly

Best Wishes

With my Skutt controller I've programed the cycle from the top temp
to drop to a lower temp at the rate of 9999. this gives the maximum rate
of cooling and the temp drops at the same rate as when I've finished the
cycle at the top. The elements have not shown any glow. I'm afraid I have'nt
opened the kiln lid but I have pulled peeps to cool faster. Not exactlly>
what you are doing, but it seems to work the same way.
