Hi Jenny.....et al,
Fiber paper is something used all the time with kiln work and glass. For
lots of the projects it's nearly indispensable, making short work of clean
up and allowing difficult castings.
Great material to use, with some basic " good housekeeping habits ".
Seattle Pottery Supply 800-522-1975 usually carries some thicknesses,
however, I'd try some of the stained glass / glass fusing suppliers in your
area. One source of a very thin sheets and thus cheaper paper is Northwest
Art Glass. They're a wholesaler and require resale and /or tax license
info. Also a $50.00 minimum.
800-888-9444 Redmond, Washington.
The sheets are 22 x 22 inches, designed to fit front load kilns.
As with any tool, proper use is the key. Taking advantage of new and
innovative skills or materials is the key to pushing the envelope of
creativity.
Whether it's rubbing two sticks together or using fiber paper, some will be
the innovators and others watchers. Don't let the watchers dissuade your
attempts to grow and change.
Remember, hammers are very dangerous too when misapplied.........
especially more than once.
From Alohaland, Ditmar.
