Hi Clayart,

As promised, here is the list of workshops which will be offered at the
Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach, Florida this winter. They are
open to all levels. In addition, I have accepted a position as Head of
the Ceramics Workshop and 3-D program leader at the Armory. In addition
to hosting the workshops, I will be teaching 8 week classes in Jan-Feb,
and 6 week classes in March-April (after NCECA).

MASTER ARTISTS WORKSHOPS IN CLAY

YOSHIRO IKEDA - Feb. 20-21. "Handbuilt Form and Surface in Harmony"
Throughout two days of demonstration and lecture, Yoshi Ikeda will
share the techniques and thought process behind his unique way of
working with clay and glaze. He will explore hand building as a
source of freedom and possibility - to be integrated with surface
treatment in order to reference personal experience. $160.00

STEVEN HILL - March 1-6. "Functional Stoneware, Single Firing"
This 5 1/2 day hands on workshop with Steven Hill will focus on
producing functional pots that transcend function, while still
honoring the pot's intended use. Particular attention will be paid to
details of rims, feet, lids, spouts and handles. Work made in this
workshop will be single fired during the workshop in the Armory's MFT.
$410.00

BRADLEY MILLER - March 8-12. "Clay as the Language of Stones"
This five day hands on workshop will provide an opportunity to
explore and experiment with a variety of approaches to forming,
texturing and coloring wet clay and assembling fired pieces into
complex sculptural objects. $410.00

LANA WILSON - March 27-28. "Shape and Surface - The Extraordinary and
Beyond". This two day workshop will feature the use of unusual
construction techniques to make simple or complex forms including
teapots and boxes with working drawers. Lana will also demonstrate
fool proof ways to make bas relief tiles and "special effects"
glazes. $160.00

This is a great lineup, Harvey. Should undoubtedly be some
terrific workshops here.

For those who may not be quite as familiar with Yoshiro Ikeda
and his work as with some of the others listed, I can enthusiastically
recommend his workshops. Attended one in Houston four years or
so ago - excellent. He is knowledgable, generous with information,
interesting to watch work. Most important of all, he tells really great
stories....
