Dear Clayarters,
I added a frit list and frit cross reference as part of my 'technical' page
in my web pages. I hope you will visit, bookmark and use this list so my
work is not in vain.
I want to thank Dorothy Kelba for her inspiration and help posting this page
to the web.
It was a fun project and I learned all about the
 tags. :>)

If anyone else has an idea for a technical/reference page please speak up.
Please let me know of any browser conflicts you encounter.
TIA and Happy New Year.

Frank,
I am sure that I and others on Clayart will find this a very useful
reference point, particularly the cross reference list.
I not infrequently get involved in 'transporting' recipes across the
Atlantic - both ways. With this in mind I have also recently added a
page to my Web site:-
http://www.dhpot.demon.co.uk
From the Index page click on 'Pottery Techniques' and then on
'Transporting Recipes'
This is geared specifically to this question and how this may best be
done and so does not attempt to list all frits as you have done. It
does, however, include other common materials where cross Atlantic
equivalents are required.

Frank,

I just read your new section on frits on your website. I sent Dorothy
the information on the comparison of frits made by different companies.
An important caution seems to have fallen out: "Since there may be minor
variances in the comparable frit you select, be sure to test the frit
before using in production." If you can, would you add that sentence?

This brings up a question I've been wondering about -- how
similar are these frits that are listed as equivalents? My
new local ceramic supplier carries frits that are labelled things
like GF-111, which the catalog says is the same as Ferro 3134. Is
it really??
