The Buchanans on mon 4 jan 99
This is the white glaze I use for marking the nickle blue. It is also a =
fine
glaze for
majolica work. I've painted over it with under glazes and washes with =
sucess. It
is
very forgiving of sloppy glazing. I find it too smooth and bland used alone=
so
I
abandoned color testing. It's other flaw is that it sometimes curdles or
bubbles
when it is refired.
=5E 4--6 oxidation white
GERSTLEY BORATE 30.8=25
FLINT 30.2
ZIRCOPAX 8
KAOLIN 10
WHITING 9

TITANIUM DIOXIDE 4 ( for a cream white use all or part rutile)
The niclke blue is also =5E 4--6 oxidation.
