Here is a question: I've tried a glaze called greed weathered bronze that I
got from the archives or the list, via marcia in montana. Here it is:
Green weathered bronze ^6
Lithium Carb 2
Strontium Carb 40
Neph Syn. 120
Flint 18
Ball 20
Add
Titanium 5
Copper Carb 5
I understand that this is not food-safe. But it is really beautiful.
What happens if you put a glaze like this on, say, the outside of a bowl or
cup (porcelain) and use a food-safe glaze on the inside? Will the toxicity
leach through the porcelain and the glaze and into the inside? Or are you
safe using a glaze like this as a decorative accent?
Thanks in advance
Carrie

Hi,
Back when I was taking lessons, we used this glaze on the outside of
some mugs. Since then, my teacher used the mugs, washed them in the
dishwasher, microwaved them as one often does with cups.
In about 1 year's time, the glaze started to peel off in layers -
IMHO this glaze is not worth using for functional ware.........
