jiggering help needed

The purpose of my sojourn through Bob Luitwieler's (he developed the
Pacifica potters wheel than sold to Laguna) warehouse was to locate the
various parts needed to put a wheel together. After several hours of
delightful searching and working we were able to put together two new wheels
As we were putting away the parts we didn't need I came across a box of
prototypes he had of jigger mold holders that bolt directly to the Pacifica
wheel head. The piece that bolts to the wheel head is a low profile that
holds the convex mold for making plates etc. Another piece of metal was
machined to perfectly fit inside the bolted on piece. This unit now holds
the concave mold used to make bowls etc. I never came across the arm but
that shouldn't be hard to make. The pottery books I have that even mention
jiggering are inadequate to learn the process. Could someone point me in the
right direction where I can find the information needed to put my new toy to
use. Thanks much

Piece of cake. Harry Davis's book is where I started, and then I went to
Western Scrap and adjusted his design to what I found there. $6 later and some
welding skills, I was in business. I make a line of terracotta bird feeders on
a totally homemade system. They are wonderful tools and well worth the
learning curve. I'm a little foggy this morning from celebrating buying my new
studio and dancing to swing last night so I'm not going to be too informative
now, but I'd like to help. I have a friend coming up from Taos this evening
with a digital camera that I can use to send you photos of the tool I made and
the mold making system. He will also get my web sight up and you can see what
it makes and the new crib.
later, Clyde
