I've coasted along happily for years but now it seems that I need to update &
go over inventory with several of the galleries with whom I do business.
When I receive payment I list the date & check # on the inventory sheet.
I've noticed several galleries have "cleaned up" their inventory sheets, re
written them & not sent me a copy to check for discrepancies. It's catch up
time & I'm at a bit of a loss. It seems to me I need to make an appointment
show up with all my records & hash it out.
What simple methods & processes do you folks use?

Hi Joy,
I no longer do consignment for this reason. Because if you let it go too
long it becomes just too difficult to sort out and leaves bad feelings. To
make it as painless as possible be sure to have all your records clear to
your own satisfaction before you show up. I think this is very important.
Make sure you can document the trail of all pots you cannot account for as
either paid or returned. Make a list of these pots and be ready to point
instantly to the documentation on each. This will at least impress the
shopkeeper that you are doing your part of the job responsibly. They never
want to admit that they occassionally sell pots without correct
documentation and of course they do.
And in future maybe you would consider making this an annual event.
Just my 2c, and good luck with it.
