I am planning a trip to Korea this spring. Does anyone out there have
information on opportunities to learn abut traditional Korean pottery? Phil=
and
Kate Smith have given me some suggestions? Any thoughts at all would be
gratefully appreciated.

Hi Dave,
I went to Korea in '95 and loved it=21 I visited Kyongju, which was a =
village of
family potteries where they were all still making traditional Korean ware =
and
you could watch them working and firing with amazing skill. Interestingly, =
the
pots are priced in Yen, and the Japanese visit there by the bus load. I
recommend bi bim bop (sp?) to eat, rice, veggies and beef with a raw egg =
cracked
on top, which you stir and cook in a very hot stone bowl. Buy some brushes
there, very cheap=21 Have a great time.

Thanks so much for taking time to write. I know you must be busy. So far I
have only heard about Ichon, a village year Seoul, as a suggestion. I'll
try to learn something about Kyongju. Thanks again!
Can you tell me the cost for David Wright's workshop in July? Also, any
info about cost for housing, etc? thanks!
