majolica glaze problem?

Hello all,

Recently we have been having Majolica nights at our community ceramics
center with very good success. Unfortunately lately we have developed a
problem with our glaze. After firing some of the pieces have what
appear to be "wrinkly skin." This does not appear to be a problem with
under or overfiring as some pieces will have it while others next to
them do not at random places in a vented Skutt KM-1227. We are using a
Majolica base glaze called "Stella's Majolica" (Sorry I don't have the
recipie handy as I'm borrowing this computer and account at the moment)
It appears to be a fairly standard white Majolica glaze. We have been
spraying the pieces with a H2O/CMC mix as a glaze hardener, could
excessive CMC cause this wrinkle effect? The pots with the problem
appear random, and I have done the majority of the glazing and the CMC
spraying so all of the pots should be consistant in their glaze
application. Could this be a gassing problem? The work is fired to a
soft ^05 bisque and then ^05 glaze.
Any help would be appreciated.
