Enjoyed your thoughts. After many years of learning to fire by the seat of my
pants in many different kilns, I've finally built my own. Don't have an
oxyprobe yet but with the help of a digital pyrometer and my experience-fed
intuition I've got my kiln firing beautifully and glazes doing what I want.
Question: does anyone know of a good, comprehensive written guide to gas
firing? Nils Lou's book was very helpful but a bit hard to decipher. I'm
looking for a real hands on what-to-try-when approach with clear explanations
of the concept and theory behind the practicle.
If it's not out there would someone please write it. I'd be happy to edit.
