Explore texture on slabs using hands, natural objects (scraps of weathered
wood, leaves shells...) & human made objects and tools. A good objective is
to use each item held at different angles to make at least 5 different
textures. The slabs can be slumped into graceful shallow bowl shapes. Buy or
borrow alphabet rubber stamps. Think about a group environmental project a
landscape on a table. Doesn't have to be fired. Group projects involve
everyone in the thinking, planning & developing. You'll be amazed at how well
children think & plan. Oh the memories.

just recalled a wall that i saw at a college in california... a project
that could easily be done by children... and a little help from the
adults... they laid in a pile of clay... clean floor etc... and
stomped it into something that could be cut up into tiles... fired and
installed on a wall... was wonderful... could do it on a smaller scale...
on pieces of clean wood... the foot impressions were interesting...
could also include hands.... but the randomness was the great...
will you letting clayart know of your sucesses... etc...?
good luck
