Another reminder. If you've seen this already, fine. I had to ask and
thought I'd post it. 12 minute Emerging Artist presentations take place
Sat. morning at the Weds.- Sat. annual conference of the National
Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts. The auditorium is usually
standing-room only for this popular event. Don't be shy! Share with the
field. You can nominate yourself. I've seen some wonderful slide talks
at this event. Deadline is Oct. 20, sooner than you think!

NCECA Emerging Artists nominations
Artists may self-nominate, or they may be nominated by someone in the
field of ceramics. Self-nominations must be accompanied by a letter of
recommendation by a person in the field
of ceramics.
Any artist who shows exceptional promise in the field of ceramics is
eligible. The artist must not currently be a student.
The nominee must submit:
12 slides of his/her work labeled with artist's name, title of the
work, medium and dimensions.
a complete resume
a letter of recommendation
a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of materials
Each selected artist must also attend the 1999 NCECA Conference in
Columbus, Ohio; where each will give a 12-minute slide presentation of
her/his work, for which the standard presenter's honorarium will be
given.
When is the deadline? All material must be received by October 20,
1998.
