Hi all. Jane, you are an inspiration. I have no idea how to throw without
boobs (hardly know how to throw with 'em) but I am sure you will find a
way. Your zest is very contagious, as is your openness. Thanks for sharing.

On pain: I have been awakened night after night by pain on the inside of my
knees. It feels like tendons or some connective tissue being stretched and
stretched. It happens most after a long day of throwing. Does this happen
to anyone else? I am trying to figure out what the heck I am doing to cause
this. I have no pain during the day.

I used to be sore from throwind all day, then I started to throw while
standing. Among the many benefits is having no more back-soreness. There are
many more (benefits). Try it (if you're not already). : ) Good luck, Andrew

Hi Carrie,

I don't know what to say about throwing with or without boobs so I'll
not go there. Sounds like I may have missed a very interesting thread -
darn!!

The knee pain 'can' be caused by hunching over the wheel and
tighening/shortening abdominal. This can be particularly caused by a
shortened or tight SOAS muscle which runs from the navel through the
groin and down to the knee. Find a good competent well trained
neuromuscular massage therapist for a complete evaluation and relief.

I wear my weight lifting belt when I spend a long time at the wheel. The large
leather portion in the back provides just enough support to reduce the soreness.
I imagine the othe back support products would work too and possibly be more
comfortable.

Try not to laugh! This is going to sound weird, but here goes. When I am
pushing myself to produce to meet a coming show or sale, I find that the
next day(s) my elbow hurts, or its my wrist, then again it might be my
fingers. I suffer from sporadic attacks of rheumatism and at first I
thought these attacks were caused by it. So I would take my medicine - to
no avail. Then as soon as the pressure was past - the pains went away too.
After going through this to or three times, I figured that I was causing
the pain myself, to myself while i was sleeping. So the next time I got
the first pain attack, I told myself when I went to bed at night not to
beat myself up anywhere on my body. It worked!

Hi, Was reading last night about the change in the population from fat
free diets to high protein diets. The article stated that one of the bad
side effects of too much protein is leg cramping. If all else fails an
analysis of your diet may help. Good luck, Dorothy

Dorothy,

The leg cramping sometimes seen in low-carb diets is often caused by
inadequate intake of potassium. This can be rectified by taking potassium
supplements (as recommended on the bottle or by your physician) or by
eating a banana a couple of times a month. (And yes, I know that bananas
are taboo on a low-carb diet, but once or twice a month isn't going to set
anyone back too much.)

I can't say enough good about the new change in diet trends, BTW. I went
from a size 18 to a size 12 inside a year and eliminated my borderline high
blood pressure as well. I feel wonderful and now I just eat pretty much
whatever I want and never gain weight. Of course, I do try to go easy on
the carbs, but if I gain a bit, I know just how to get rid of it. It's
great.
