I know I'm blabbering away today. I'll make it short and to the point.

Patronage: I'd be wary of letting this guy buy equipment and such. Why not
suggest that your patron give you a show in his home (assuming it's great) or
a restaurant? Invite all of his friends and business acquaintances, a little
music, a little knosh . . . Maybe a yearly event, before the holidays. He
would be supporting you, but there wouldn't be pieces of equipment sitting in
your studio that screams, "I cost THIS much!"

SW designs: These type of markings are found in all ancient cultures. It may
be a yearning to be more connected to the earth, people around us, to be
something more than our own nuclear familes. I agree with the thought about
Native American spirituality also. Fortunately and unfortunately, I live in
the land of touristos. Some of what sells as Indian art would make anybody
cry.

Kiln not reaching temp: Whoever wrote in saying "check the wiring" is right
on the money. It's the wiring. The longer the cable (past a specified length
in the electrical code book) the fatter (ca-ching!!!!) it needs to be. Try
calling a different electrician. If the first one put in the wrong cable,
he/she might not be willing to point that out as the problem!
