Hi
Got a recipe for transparent raku base glaze ^016-010 that needs 42.5 parts
of a Pemco frit #25; what is it? Is this american? Is it possible to get
some hint of the composition? Is there some kind of substitute?
Same questions with Ferro frit#3134.The only problem of having a great book
but no knowledge of the equivalents to the ingredients in a completely
different country than where the book has been published. Let me know when
Campbell's book comes out in czech.
Thanks

Ferro frit #3134 is a high calcium no alumina low melting point
frit "particularly good for Racku type glazes"

Composition as follows
Na2O 0.32
CaO 0.68
B2O3 0.63
SiO2 1.47
Fusion pt. 1450 F

Similar to frit GF-111

The Pemco frit I don't know about.

Frit equivalents
Pemco 25= Ferro 3819
Ferro 3134= Pemco 54
I do not know where to get them

Can you get Hommel frits? or any frits?
Pemco frit 25 is equivalent to Hommel 259, Glostex GF114, Fusion FZ25 and Ferro
3819.

Ferro 3134 is equivalent to Hommel 14, Glostex GF111, Fusion F12, and Pemco
P-54

Can provide unity formulas I think, but unless the materials are fritted they
may not be of much use. If frits are available in your area, someone should
have some equivalency tables.

P-25 is:
..18 K2O
..76 Na2O
..03 CaO
..03 ZnO
..38 Al2O3
..78 B2O3
2.65 SiO2
..29 F
(This is the unity molecular formula.)
You can substitute Ferro Frit #3819. Good Luck!
