propylene glycol source

I like to find local sources for materials when I can identify them. With =
the
ease and speed of the mail and UPS, a local source can now be clear across =
the
country (i.e. the Potter's Shop). Llewellyn Kouba was asking about a source=
for
propylene glycol for thinning majolica pigments. I haven't tried doing any
majolica but have purchased propylene glycol in gallon jugs at Walmart and =
other
places. Propylene glycol is the non-toxic pink antifreeze sold for use in =
the
drinking water systems of RV's. Just don't get the stuff they sell for use =
in
auto radiators - it is toxic (ethylene glycol).

A question on a similar subject: I plan to make some plaster molds and read
somewhere that mold release soap was a potassium soap. I bought a pint of
insecticidal soap in the garden section at Walmart and it is labeled as =
being
50=25 potassium based soap. Is this usable for a release agent for plaster =
or
should I save it to kill the white flies on my flowers?

Thanks in advance - Al Smith
