An experience took place in Maine this past August that we would
like to share with our fellow clayarters. An annual raku party held
at the home/studio of Rusty Wiltjer of Wiltjer Pottery turned into an
even more special event when he invited other potters from across
the country and Canada. This is a group of potters who come
regularly to chat on the #Pottery Channel on the IRC.
Some had been talking for over 4 years and had never met.
Bringing this group of potters together from WV, MD, AZ, FL,
PA, ME, and Canada was quite a feat, but one well worth the effort.
We experienced a sharing of ideas, fun, food, and of course rakued
pots one day til 3 in the morning and then again the entire next day.
The closeness of this group of IRC friends that is felt online,
became apparent as we spent close to a week together.
It enhanced the friendships already developed, and continues to do so.

If' you'd like to check it out,
you can see pictures on Rusty's web site:

Some of you might recognize some fellow clayarters in those pictures!
