Does anyone have a source for the high alum sampling tube used with the co2
analizer. I purchased 2 of them from Axner and both have broken after taking
samples from two fireings. At 20$ a pop, I think I need a better sourse.
Thanks for any help finding a new supply. Tracy

The first tube lasted for about 25 samples and the second for 4 samples being
very careful not to bang it around. It may have been the thermal shock
(checking around the 6... 1/2" holes to check each burner) but I woulld expect
a quality material to work under this kind of sampling. Heard of any place to
get better ones? I heard that some medical supply houses have them. Tracy

For a cheap supply of tubes for a CO2 analyzer try Superior Glass Blowing in
Ann Arbor, MI. Don't know the address offhand but the phone number is (734)
482-8744. Tell them you need a quartz tube and give the inside diameter. I'd
buy about ten or so.

When I first used the co2 analyzer I was breaking them frequently also. But
they were $70 a pop from Bacarach who makes an analyzer. They need to be
handled with extreme care.

I store mine right in the kiln when it is off. During firing I remove it part
way between samples, but leave it resting just in the kiln. I've found this is
the safest place for it (I"m a real klutz).

Tracy,

Try a local Heating and cooling company. I get my tubes for a Place in
Kansas City, KS at a cost of $12.00 ea.

where its time to turn the kiln up again.
