satin white glaze craze

A question for the glaze guru's. I'm searching for a food safe white liner
cone 10-11, preferably not to glossy. I've used one called Satin White with a
formula of:
Custar Spar 3200g
Silica 1600g
Whiting 1600g
Talc 1200g
EPK 1800g
Bentonite 160g
Superpax 400g
I guess the net has made me concerned about using a glaze that generally
crazes
on the bodies that I utilize and calling it food safe. However,I personally
love the way this glaze looks in a mug after many good years of use. I refer
to this as a craze stained interior, these are like wine (a good cabernet)
they only get better with age. Does anybody out there relate? Well, thanx for
any help on the glaze.

Bill,

A quick fix might be to just reverse the amounts for the whiting and talc. The
talc has a lower co-efficient of expansion than the whiting and a little more
silica. Both of those can help lower the expansion of the glaze.

Warm regards,
June

Hi Bill,

It's a little short of silica but not enough to worry about - I have
reformulated for more silica and could get rid of the crazing as well - but
since you like it....

I don't think there is a problem with crazing glazes and food - in fact
there may be a benefit. Getting a micro shot of botulism every day may be
just the thing to keep your immune system on it's toes.

Here is a reformulation - may be still too shiny but that is fixable - I've
kept the expansion about the same.

After you test it report back to the list with the results please - what I
am trying to achieve is the same looking glaze but a little more durable -
