Hi:
Would anyone have or know of a 1/4 horse Shimpo motor, or the complete wheel
that's for sale. The motor is for a very old Shimpo and all the
inscriptions and labels on the wheel are in Japanese.
Thanx for any help and you can e-mail me direct if you want.

With some time, ruler, and a Grainger catalogue you can measure the
shimpo motor and change it over to a NEMA motor size. The WW Grainger
catalog has the measurement for NEMA sizing. 1/4 horse motor are easy to
find anywhere in the US. Next you need to look for one that is reversible
that is in the NEMA frame size that is not a permanent split capacitor or
shaded pole motor in the right Volts and I'm sure it 1725 rpm. Around here
we have plenty of shop that sale motor and are happy to help out. I would
be weary of any motor priced or $125

Hi Kenneth:
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. It's for some friends
who are trying to fix up a wheel for a young man they are teaching to make
pots and I'll forward your response to them. I'm sure they'll send you a
post. Their names are Tom and Ellen Currans.
Thanks again, Craig in Oregon
