By all means get a quote from shimpo or one of their dealers but lets not be
silly about this, the chances are you will be able to have it repaired by
your local electric motor repair man for less. Cheers, John.

I repair shimpo wheels all the time. But more important is why, the motor
burnt up.
You can take your wheel to a motor shop that rewinds motors and have them
rewind it. "If" they use top quality material you will end up with a better
motor then Shimpo can sell you. The cost is about $150. Have them check the
windings and tell you why it burnt up. As a rule its from not enough
electricity.
Shimpo wants $255.00 for a motor & transmission for a RK 10, and the dont
like to sell them separately.
