Thanks to a Christmas present form my husband (The Art of Firing book) I
am starting to plan my first kiln construction project. Does anybody on
the list have a good, cost effective, source for Insulated Fire Brick in
the upper midwest? In the book Nils says that he found K-23 IFB for
$1.55 to $2.60, that is less than I have seen them for. I am thinking
about the K-26 to be used in a small salt kiln, coated with ITC. Has
any one recently gone down this path? Do you have any suggestions? Any
information would be greatly appreciated, excitement is overwhelming in
my house today. Thanks
