Hi,
After reading the manuals, the booklet,,,the back of the box,,,,etc....
And having everything "plugged in " and ready to go..........
I have frozen feet at this point......forget the cold........
Anyway......kiln is a skutt 818....new...out of the box recently....
had a "goodie bag " with two test cones...020 in it...one of these "goodie
test"
cones' has a broken tip?? can the cone still be used? And do I have to do two
test fires???? since I have only one fully functional cone.....??
AND.......the manual says to apply kiln wash to sensing rod and to cone
sitter.....
Is this necessary????
Was advised by another potter not to use kiln wash in a liquid form but to
just sprinkle the dry kiln wash on the kiln shelves to prevent pots from
sticking....then brush off after firing and re-use again......so do I just
need to mix a little and put on the rod and the sitter or what??? not trying
to be lazy or anything.....just want to get this stuff right......
thanks for any and all help......
