loading large sculpture into kiln

Hi
Looking for any advice for loading my kiln(first time), especially for
loading a large piece of sculpture. I am so afraid that i will snap off a
piece when I set it in and could use any ones advice (and brute strength) to
get me through. Also I have been drying this piece now for 5 weeks, it is
approx. an inch thick, and although at times it still feels cold, It could be
that we keep our house on the rather cool side.

Get help! Around the studio here there is usually two or three people who do
large work that help each other out in the brute strength area. Once in the
kiln, fire the piece very slowly. Some people here candle the kiln for two
to three days with the kiln door slightly open.
