collar molds

A lotion jar with a clay neck beats a glued-on plastic collar
any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.
Functionally and, more importantly, aesthetically.

The Axner collar molds work good, once you learn how to use
them. First, you have to see if your clay shrinks the correct amount
for the mold, so the collar will end up the right size.
They have 2 sizes of molds, I think, that cover clays in the 10-13%
shrinkage range. Your technique for making the collars will also
affect the final size.
This is definitely more work than gluing on a plastic collar, but,
once you learn how it all works, you can make them pretty fast.
