Some time ago, there was a mention by somebody on the list of using a
mirror when throwing. Many apologies - I can't remember who wrote
about this. I decided to try it and have to say it is a brilliant
idea! I only started about a month ago, and I wish I had known
about it years ago!
It was a bit weird at first, trying to concentrate on the reflection
of my hands, thinking in reverse, all that, but it didn't take long
and I was just amazed at how much it helps. Seeing the shape
sideways on instead of looking down is a great help, but the main
thing is - none of that peculiar sideways twisting and bending that
lots of potters seem to do, to see how the shape is coming along.
Ideal way of putting backs out.
I recommend it to everyone who hasn't tried it yet. And would like
to say THANK YOU to - whoever, wherever you may be!
