I have received a used L&L K236 Kiln. I has 4 rings and is rated at 59 amps
and with only 3 rings rated 48 amps. I want to add a Kiln Sitter to it to
have some measure of safety from overfiring. Does Dawson make different
models based on the amps the kiln will draw.
Second question, how many post do you use on a full 21" shelf.
Thanks,

Dear Chuck:
The configuration you have is a very strange one from our prehistory. We do
have a wiring diagram (available for the asking) that shows how to have a
standard 50 amp Dawson kiln sitter working in parallel with a contactor for
the upper ring. To impliment this would take some electrical rewiring and
expertise. I do believe Dawson makes a 75 amp kiln sitter so you may also
want to explore that avenue.
